Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi  aspek kompetensi literasi sains calon guru kimia. Ada   tiga kompetensi yaitu: menjelaskan fenomena sains, mengevaluasi dan merancang penyelidikan ilmiah, dan menafsirkan data dan bukti secara ilmiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 30 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan kimia, Fakultas Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam IKIP Mataram, Indonesia.  Data Literasi Sains dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan soal tes kimia dasar yang digunakan oleh dosen pengampu mata kuliah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  rata-rata ketercapian literasi sains calon guru kimia  pada kompetensi  menjelaskan fenomena sains sebesar 52,5% dengan kategori  kurang, mengevaluasi dan merancang penyelidikan ilmiah sebesar 52% dengan kategori  kurang, dan menafsirkan data dan bukti secara ilmiah sebesar 40% dengan kategori sangat kurang.  Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa calon guru kimia memiliki kompetensi literasi sains yang rendah (48,2%).
