Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to OKTAHEDRAL will go through a double-blind peer review process. This means that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review to ensure an objective and fair assessment.
Every submission will first be screened by the editorial team to ensure it fits the scope of the journal and meets the basic formatting and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected at this stage without further review.
If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it will be sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the field relevant to the article. Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on the originality of the research, the quality of the methodology, the clarity of the writing, and the relevance of the study to chemistry—especially in maritime contexts. Based on their assessment, reviewers will recommend whether the article should be accepted, revised (minor or major), or rejected.
The editor will then consider the reviewers’ comments and make a final decision. Authors will be notified of the outcome and will receive anonymous reviewer feedback. If revisions are needed, authors are expected to submit a revised manuscript along with a clear response to each reviewer comment. In some cases, the revised article may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.
Once the manuscript is accepted, it will proceed to the copyediting and layout stages before final publication. Normally, the peer review process takes about 4 to 6 weeks. Authors who request a fast-track review and pay the applicable fee will receive a decision within 4 weeks.
OKTAHEDRAL is committed to upholding ethical standards in peer review and follows the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity throughout the review process.
