Plagiarism Policy

OKTAHEDRAL is firmly committed to publishing original works and upholding academic integrity. All submitted manuscripts must be the result of original research and must not contain any form of plagiarism, duplication, or unethical reuse of content.

What is Considered Plagiarism?

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

• Copying text, ideas, or data from other sources without proper citation
• Submitting someone else's work as your own (including translated work)
• Reusing substantial parts of the author’s own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without citation or proper justification
• Using images, graphs, or tables from other sources without permission or acknowledgment

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to OKTAHEDRAL will be screened using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin) before entering the peer-review process.

• The maximum similarity index allowed is 20%, with no more than 3% from a single source.
• Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before or after publication—the editorial team may:

• Reject the manuscript
• Retract the published article
• Notify the author’s institution
• Ban the author from future submissions

Author’s Responsibility

It is the author's responsibility to ensure that their work is free from plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to check the originality of their manuscripts using trusted similarity-checking tools before submission.

Report Suspected Plagiarism

Anyone who suspects that a submitted or published article contains plagiarized content is encouraged to report it to the editorial team at prodikimia@umrah.ac.id.
