Reference Management

OKTAHEDRAL requires all authors to format their references using the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, 7th Edition.

To maintain consistency and accuracy, authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Zotero®, Mendeley®, EndNote®, or other compatible software.

General Guidelines:

  • All in-text citations and reference list entries must follow the APA 7th format.
  • All references are numbered based on their order of appearance in the manuscript (not alphabetically).
  • Use square brackets for in-text citation references, e.g., [1], [2–3].
  • The reference list must use hanging indent.
  • Authors must ensure that every reference cited in the text appears in the reference list and vice versa.
  • Authors’ names are written with surname first, followed by initials (without a comma between initials).
  • Use italics for journal titles, book titles, and volume numbers.
  • Include DOI or URL for online sources when available.
  • Minimum of 20 references and maximum of 50 references per manuscript.
  • At least 80% of references must be from peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 10 years.
