Abstract

Perubahan iklim, meningkatnya genangan air, dan belum optimalnya pengelolaan sampah organik di lingkungan sekolah menjadikan upaya konservasi tanah dan air sekaligus pendidikan lingkungan bagi siswa semakin mendesak. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 4 Garut dengan tujuan meningkatkan kepedulian lingkungan, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan siswa melalui praktik pembuatan lubang resapan biopori sebagai salah satu teknologi konservasi sederhana. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan siswa, guru, dan tim pengabdi dalam tahapan identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga refleksi. Rangkaian kegiatan meliputi observasi awal kondisi sekolah, edukasi dan sosialisasi konsep biopori serta konservasi tanah dan air, pelatihan teknis, praktik langsung pembuatan lubang resapan biopori di titik-titik strategis halaman sekolah, serta evaluasi menggunakan instrumen pretest–posttest, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang biopori dan konservasi lingkungan yang tercermin dari kenaikan skor dan pergeseran kategori pengetahuan ke arah lebih tinggi, diikuti tumbuhnya sikap lebih peduli terhadap pengelolaan sampah organik dan kondisi lingkungan sekolah. Selain itu, terbentuk sejumlah lubang resapan biopori yang berfungsi sebagai sarana resapan air dan media pembelajaran berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, program ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi PAR dan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman efektif.
