SOCIALIZATION OF PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF HOAX NEWS AND DIGITAL ERA MEDIA FILTERIZATION FOR ADOLESCENTS IN BORDER AREAS

Abstract

Community service activities targeting MA Amanatul Ummah students, Belakang Padang District, Batam with the reason that their domicile and place of daily activities, including school activities, are in a coastal area which is also a border area. In addition, the onslaught of information in this era of globalization is very fast hitting urban areas that are close to two countries at the same time. From this activity students are expected to be more selective when receiving and filtering the information they get from social media so they do not fall into believing fake news or hoaxes. This service will provide dissemination of knowledge regarding ways and techniques in sorting out information and communicating that are good and wise in using social media. This is very important for students because there is still a lack of knowledge about media literacy even though they carry out activities on social media every day.
