About the Journal

MarIslands (E-ISSN: 2827-895X) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal managed by the Department of Socio-economic Fisheries, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH), Indonesia. Published twice a year (March and September), MarIsland provides an academic platform for disseminating high-quality research, scholarly discussion, and practical insights in the field of marine and island socio-economic studies.

The journal focuses on, but is not limited to, the following areas:

• Fisheries and coastal socio-economic studies
• Sustainable marine and coastal resource management
• Blue economy, maritime entrepreneurship, and innovation
• Governance and policy for coastal and small-island development
• Fisheries livelihoods, market systems, and value chains
• Community resilience, social transformation, and socio-ecological sustainability

Open Access Policy, MarIsland is fully open access, meaning all articles are freely available online without subscription or payment. This policy supports wider knowledge dissemination and encourages global academic exchange. Copyright and Licensing, Authors retain the copyright of their work. All published articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA). This permits others to share and adapt the work for any purpose, provided that proper attribution is given and any derivative works are distributed under the same license (ShareAlike).Peer Review Process, To ensure academic quality and integrity, MarIsland applies a double-blind peer review process for all submitted manuscripts. Indexing and Visibility, MarIsland is indexed in Garba Rujukan Digital, and citation performance can be monitored through Google Scholar. Archiving and Preservation
