This study aims to investigate the type of epiphytic microfungi in shrimp and sea crab with the assumption that the member of the crustacean phylum is the minihost. This research was conducted by in vitro using direct planting technique and 3 replications. The isolation began with the sample’s observation for 24 hours then the process of inoculation was continued and each representative colony was separated into single isolates.
The results of the study obtained two microfungi’s types in epidermis tissue of Penaeus sp, and Portunus sp, namedly Fusarium sp. and Candida sp. Both types were opportunistic pathogens that can turn invasive and cause infection (immunocompromised) in the host and other organisms.
