Abstrak

Growth patterns determined through length-weight relationships (LWRs) are an approach that is widely applied in fisheries management and it could be used in determining fish condition. The length-weight relationship and condition factor of chacunda gizzard shad (Anodontostoma chacunda, Hamilton 1882) were analyzed, from samples collected between June and August 2022, in Senggarang Coast, Tanjungpinang. The aim was to determine the growth pattern and condition factors of fish. A total of 422 fish specimens were measured for the standard length (mm) and body weight (g). The result showed that the b value of 3.04 indicates isometric growth pattern. The Fulton’s condition factor (Kn) ranges from 0.84 to 1.04.  LWRs and condition factor are not constant, varying seasonally in relation to many factors such reproductive cycle, food availability, habitat and environmental factors.
