Abstract

The urgency of the existence of Community Institutions in Tanjungpinang greatly affects the implementation of services, development and community empowerment for the Tanjungpinang city government. With the complexity of the problems that are in the midst of society, it requires the existence of community institutions to be maximized, especially in the Batu IX Village area. The problem occurs against the background of a large population of 36,278 people, incentive gaps, leadership regeneration, less than optimal institutional performance and limited understanding as members of community institutions. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge of the duties and functions of social institutions as an effort to strengthen institutions. The service is carried out using lecture, discussion and brainstorming methods. The results of the service show that: first, this activity has an impact on increasing participants' knowledge of the duties and functions of social institutions, second, this activity makes participants enthusiastic about improving institutional capacity, and thirdly, participants expect the activities to be carried out in a sustainable manner.
