Marwita Sari Putri 2012wita@gmail.com
Nipah leaves are widely used as raw materials for processed foods, handicrafts, and traditional medicine for diseases such as heatiness and stomach pain. This study aims to determine the level of toxicity and the amount of active ingredient content in nipah (Nypa fruticans) leaves. The active compounds were identified by phytochemical testing, and the findings were verified by KLT testing. A. salina Leach larvae were used to evaluate the extract for toxicity. To obtain LC50 values, A. salina Leach mortality data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel probit. The results of the phytochemical study showed that the active ingredients alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, saponins, and tannins were present in the nipah leaf extract in methanol solvent. Chlorophomous components in nipah (Nypa fruticans) leaf extract include flavonoids and triterpenoids. KLT using the best eluent on AA2 with 15 dpot to confirm the results. The LC50 value of nipah (Nypa fruticans) leaf extract in methanol solvent was 100.34 ppm, in accordance with the toxicity test results. In contrast, 481.87 ppm was the LC50 value of nipah (Nypa fruticans) leaf extract in chloroform solvent.
2023-11-21T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Marinade https://ojs.umrah.ac.id/index.php/marinade/article/view/6189 NUTRITIONAL VALUE COMPOSITION OF LAMUN FRUIT Enhalus acoroides FROM SAMBOANG BEACH, BULUKUMBA DISTRICT, SULAWESI SELATAN 2023-11-01T07:42:37+00:00 Warsidah Warsidah warsidah@fmipa.untan.ac.id Irwan irwan@usk.ac.id Shifa Helena shifahelena@fmipa.untan.ac.id Sukal Minsas sukal.minsas@fmipa.untan.ac.id
Seagrass has a function as the main producer in waters and also has an ecological function, namely as a habitat for various marine biota to spawn and find food, as well as absorbing carbon and filtering pollutants so that the health of the surrounding waters can be maintained. As the main producer, seagrass leaves are the main food for several marine animals such as turtles and dugongs, while seagrass fruit which contains soft seeds can be consumed as food for humans, but it is not very popular and there is not much information regarding the nutritional content of seagrass fruit. One species of seagrass that is often found in the waters of Samboang Beach, Bulukumba Regency is the Enhalus acoroides species. This research aims to determine the proximate and essential metal content of Enhalus acoroides seagrass fruit taken from Samboang coastal waters, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. Determination of proximates, namely proteins, was carried out using the Kjeldahl method, fats using the extraction method with n-hexane solvent and essential metals, while determination of essential metal content used the atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. The results of this research show that the water content is 87%, the ash content is 0.76%, the protein content is 1.2%, the fat content is 0.66% and the carbohydrate content is 10.38%. Seaweed grows naturally in Indonesian waters, including brown seaweed. Sargassum sp. is one of the alginate-producing seaweeds. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality characteristics of the alginate of Sargassum sp. with different calcium oxide concentrations. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, namely treatment with the addition of 3%, 4%, and 5% calcium oxide concentrations. The results showed that the alginate produced had a pH value of 7.36% - 7.66%, a moisture content of 12.16% - 16.88%, an ash content of 29.78% - 30.41%, a viscosity of 8.5% - 20.33%, and a yield of 13.14% - 20.33%. Based on the quality requirements of alginate that has met the quality standard is the treatment with the addition of calcium oxide concentrations of 4% and 5%.
2022-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Marinade
