The purpose of this study is to find students’ experiential representations in explanatory texts about the experience of the earthquake that occurred on January 15, 2021. The approach used is a functional systemic linguistic approach in studying the meaning of experiential with the transivity system. How high school students Neg. 2 especially class XI represent their experiential into text through existential process, relational process, material process, mental process, and verbal process. The more dominant process is the existential process is found as many as five, the material process is three, the verbal process is two, the mental process is one. Participants used pronouns: me, we and nouns: mother and sister.
